(22 Oct)Sweet Bordeaux charms its way to Hong Kong [fr]

The delegation of Sweet Bordeaux, joined forces with the other 4 organizations of Bordeaux Wines (Médoc / Graves - Pessac-Léognan, Saint-Emilion / Pomerol / Fronsac, Les Côtes de Bordeaux, Bordeaux & Bordeaux Supérieur ) to present a most-visited Bordeaux Village at the the 7th Wine & Dine Festival from 22 to 25 October at New Central Harbourfront.

On the occasion of Sweet Bordeaux’s visit in Hong Kong, Business France organized a professional tasting and a press lunch at Aberdeen Street Social restaurant at PMQ, before the opening of Wine and Dine festival on 22 Oct. Around 50 journalists and wine professionals joined the event, an extraordinary moment to understand that Sweet Bordeaux is an easy-going wine that can be enjoyed at any time of a meal.

At the festival, the Bordeaux Village occupied 25% of the exhibition´s space with estimated consumption of more than 9,000 bottles in four days. ‘Apéritif à la française’ (APF), an initiative of Sopexa Group, also showcased the best of French food and wine.

Such remarkable presence reflects the importance of Hong Kong and China, one of the leading export destinations for Bordeaux wines. China ranks first in volume and value with the equivalent of 49 million bottles of Bordeaux wine exported in 2014 with a turnover of 221 million euros. Hong Kong is the 7th largest by volume and the second value with the equivalent of 11 million bottles of Bordeaux wines exported for a value of 214 million € in 2014.
