The Alexandre Yersin Excellence Scholarships Programme is open to local students wishing to pursue studies in artistic and cultural higher education institutions in France.

Bringing French and local institutions (museums, conservatories, national dance centres, etc.) closer together is a priority. Projects leading to exchange programmes for instructors and students for long periods, joint productions or internships in France are particularly encouraged.

For projects involving exchanges of artists in residence in France and Hong Kong, please contact Le Fonds des Artistes of the Alliance Française de Hong Kong.

Local festivals

The Culture & Science Departement promotes and assists in organizing French artistic tours in Asia and of local companies in France. It also works closely with the organizers of the major art festivals in Hong Kong and Macau which regularly present French productions in the areas of dance, theatre and music (Hong Kong Arts Festival, Macau Arts festival, Hong Kong International Film festival, etc.).

Since 1993 in Hong Kong and 2000 in Macau, the Culture & Science Department, in collaboration with the Alliances Françaises, has been organising the annual festival of French art,Le French May . During the month of May, Le French May presents a programme of more than 30 events that cover a variety of disciplines (music, theatre, performing arts, visual arts, cinema, gastronomy, etc.). The festival is supported by the leading local cultural institutions as well as corporate and individual sponsorship. Based on the criteria of quality and originality, the SCAC engages only world-class events likely to interest local sponsors.
