For the first time since Copenhagen, the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (“COP21”) in December 2015 brings together global leaders with the aim of achieving a legally binding universal agreement on climate. The goal is to keep global warming to a safe limit, below 2°C. It will also facilitate discussions between businesses and within civil society in order to foster concrete and collaborative solutions for combating climate change.

BEC, the European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao, the Consulate-General of France in Hong Kong & Macau the German Consulate-General in Hong Kong and the British Consulate-General in Hong Kong will host an event on 20 October 2015 with the aim of giving participants a clear picture of COP21: the importance of reaching an agreement to tackle climate change, what the outcomes of COP21 may be for the business sector and the wider community. The discussion will also cover what Hong Kong should do about climate change, the EU and China’s position, and what business can do in advance. It is our pleasure to have the following speakers and panelists to share their views on the upcoming COP:

- Ms. Christine Loh, Under Secretary for the Environment
- Ms. Vicky Pollard, First Counsellor Environment & Climate Change, Delegation of the EU to China and Mongolia
- Ms. Lilas Bernheim, Deputy Consul General, Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau
