Cultural Festival "When YKY meets French culture" [fr]

Co-organised by the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau and T.W.G.Hs. Yow Kam Yuen College, the festival “When YKY meets French culture” was held on December 5, 2015 at the secondary school in the presence of the French Consul in Hong Kong and Macau, Mr. Eric Berti, the Consul (Culture, Education & Science), Mrs. Anne Denis-Blanchardon and the Chief Executive Officer of French May, Mr. Julien-Loïc GARIN.

After a fruitful year of the partnership between the Consulate General of France and the secondary through “Project WeCan”, a festival about French culture was organised in order to let the students of the secondary school and the inhabitants of the district discover French culture.

The festival started with a speech by Mr. Berti, in which he emphasized the success of the partnership between the French Consulate and T.W.G.Hs. Yow Kam Yuen College. After the speech, the Orchestra of the school performed a music concert with some pieces of French musician. Following the concert, Mr. Berti, Mrs. Denis-Blanchardon and Mr Garin participated in the opening ceremony and they discovered the booths of the festival. Every booth presented a specific cultural theme, such as touristic sites in France, Impressionism, the French language and the French pastry.

The students as well as the visitors enjoyed the French afternoon very much.
