France moves up in the 2016 "Doing Business" ranking (World Bank) [fr]
The most recent World Bank Doing Business 2016 ranking has just been published. It confirms the progress made over the last few months with respect to increasing the attractiveness of the French economy.
France ranks 27th (out of 189), moving up 4 places compared to last year. The ranking notably reflects the results achieved with respect to simplifying administrative procedures and moving to a paperless system – for example with respect to the payment of taxes and registering a company with the Trade and Companies Registry – as well as the quality of our infrastructure. France is the world leader with respect to the ease of trading across borders.
The publication of this annual ranking coincides with the closing of the “Invest in France Month” campaign, hosted by 50 of our embassies around the world from September 15 to October 15. This campaign, in which Laurent Fabius and Matthias Fekl participated in New York and Berlin, provided an opportunity to raise awareness among investors and foreign decision-makers of the efforts to increase our attractiveness. France now ranks 7th in the world in terms of the stock of foreign investment within its territory.
