The education of the young French-speakers is a growing activity in Hong Kong due to the important size of the French-speaking community in general and the continuous growth of the French population in particular.
For French families, the Consul of Cooperation and Cultural Affairs in his duties is the equivalent of the French ‘’Inspector of Academy’’ Director of Education Bureau services to the families. The attaché of the Department of Education, French Language and Literature assists the Director in giving advices to newly arrived families and find out solutions to ensure educational continuity among French children, primarily on site through CNED if necessary. It runs a supporting network to the French-speaking children, allowing them to use the language in daily life and maintain the possibility to join the French educational system.
For all related-questions, the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau will investigate the case and liaised with AEFE (Agence de l’enseignement Français à l’Etranger), a specialized agency of French government.
