FMBA Annual Charity Gala Dinner 2011 was successfully held on 8th December (Thursday), with more than 300 guests from different business sectors who gathered at Grand Ballroom, MGM Hotel.
73,480 MOP were raised at the time of the auction. The funds will be distributed to two Macau charities : Macau Special Olympic (Citizen with Mentally Disabilities) and International Lady Club Charity fund (38 small associations – taking care of Orphans and Children).
During his speech, the Consul general of France Mr. Arnaud Barthélémy paid a tribute to Ms. Pansy Ho, the honorary president of FMBA for her continuous support. Mr. Barthélémy also thanked Mr. Franklin Willemyns and Mr. Vincent Marechal, president and vice-president of FMBA "whose constant dedication and great energy are obviously bearing fruits", if we look at the number of guests present at the gala dinner.
The Consul general also pointed out that French exports to Macau have been multiplied by 4 between 2005 and 2010 and the French presence in Macau was in regular increase. The co-operation between France and Macau shall still be reinforced in the future, thanks to the help of the FMBA.
