The fourth edition of EUFF, European Union Film Festival, will be held in Hong Kong from February 26th to March 11th of 2016. This year, 18 movies representing 18 different countries will compose the festival’s movie selection. France will have the honour of presenting Elie Wajeman’s audacious movie "The Anarchists" by Elie Wajeman, featuring award winning actors Tahar Rahim and Adèle Exarchopoulos.
The festival will open on February 26th at IFC Palace with Irish movie
Brooklyn, for which actress Saoirse Ronan has been nominated for Best Actress at this year’s Academy Awards.
The programme will be counting amongst its movie selection a myriad of award-winning movies amongst which The Son of Saul by Laszlo Nemes presented by Hungary (winner of the Grand Prix at Cannes Festival of 2015) and Youth by Paolo Sorrentino (Winner of Best Movie award at the European Film Awards - French minoritary coproduction).
The Anarchists by Elie Wajeman (2015), the story
Paris 1899. Corporal Jean Albertini, an orphan of humble origins, is chosen to
infiltrate a band of anarchists. For him, it’s a chance to move up the ranks. But
forced to compromise without respite, Jean is increasingly divided. On one hand,
he delivers incriminating intelligence reports to his superior, Gaspard. On the other,
he feels himself developing genuine feelings for the anarchists.
The Anarchists the Movie by Elie Wajeman, in France and in the world
Elie Wajeman studied screenwriting at La Fémis (French National Film School) after taking film and theatre courses at university. An «Emergence» award winner, he has directed several short films.
The Anarchists is his second feature film.
The movie was Opening Film of the 2015 Cannes Critics’ Week. It continued its journey thourghout the world, and pleased the crowds in Canada during the Cinemania Festival as much as in Saint Jean de Luz International Film Festival. As of today, the movie has been distributed in 12 differents countries.
Ticketing will be open on February 5th of 2016.
