Lyon as a brand in Hong Kong - Seminar & Cocktail "Only Lyon" (17/11) [fr]
On 17 November 2016, Business France organized two events at the Residence of the Consul General of France in Hong Kong to promote the city of Lyon - a Seminar "Invest in Lyon" for key players of the economic sector, and a Cocktail Reception for the overall promotion of Lyon’s attractions for professionals in tourism, culture and education.
Attended by more than 40 investors and industry key players, the seminar was kicked off by Elias Rock, Director of Business France Hong Kong (Invest), who highlighted France’s attractiveness for international investment. Alain Galliano, Vice President in charge of international relations of the Metropole of Lyon, then gave a detailed and lively presentation of the city of Lyon and its region. Testimonials from two companies that have invested in Lyon - ForCity, a Lyon startup represented by its CEO, Mr. François Grosse, and the Hong Kong company Fook Tin Group, represented by its director Dr. Sunny Chai - illustrated Mr. Galliano’s ideas and gave a convincing example to the attendees. Finally, Weina Grand and Sandra Tisun-Lépinoy, consultants at Aderly - Invest In Lyon, presented investment opportunities and the services offered by their agency to investors.
The Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macao, Mr. Eric Berti, welcomed approximately 80 guests at the French Residence for this networking cocktail celebrating the friendship between Lyon and Hong Kong. He complimented the dynamism of the city of Lyon today, which was followed by Alain Galliano’s speech on the strengths of the city. Edwin Lau, Vice-President (Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Taiwan) of Emirates, Lyon’s partner airline company, and the event wine sponsor Agamy-Vinadeis’ representative Zoe Wong also encouraged the public to visit the Capital of Gaules and to taste the region’s wines, notably the Beaujolais Nouveau which was released exactly on the same date of the event. All guests were then invited to taste the specialties from Lyon prepared by the talented chef of the Residence, Manoël Dupin.
