POC21, an innovation camp to prototype the fossil free, zero waste society [fr]
POC21 is an innovation camp founded and organized by “OuiShare” and “OpenState”. From August 15 to September 20, 2015, more than 100 makers, designers, engineers, scientists gather for five immersive weeks in Château de Millemont in Paris.
They work on 12 promising open projects in the areas of energy, housing, food, mobility and communications in order to “make open-source, sustainable products the new normal” and “create a functional on-site prototype of the smallest unit of a sustainable future society”. For instance, they work on a 230HKD wind turbine project, which will be a relatively easy “Do It Yourself” made out of recycled materials.
The castle is equipped with all the tools, machinery and materials required for product development and multidisciplinary experts help solving current obstacles the camp projects face.
The teams gather for work sessions, campfire chats, mentoring sessions, daily and weekly retrospectives, reality checks with external sparring partners, candlelight dinners in the woods…
