Participation of Consulate General of France in Project WeCan Teachers’ Development Day
Co-organised with the Quality School Improvement Project of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the event provided a platform for teachers from WeCan participating schools to learn from speakers involved in youth development through panel discussions and best practice sharing.
As the 1st Consulate partner with a local school, the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau was invited to take part in the Opening Ceremony as one of the officiating guests. Madam Servane Gandais, attaché for Educational & Linguistics Affairs of the French Consulateand Julien-Loïc Garin, Chief Executive Officer of Le French May arts festival, participated in this event.
Project WeCan is a business-in-community programme organised by the Wharf group to allow enterprises to offer care and opportunities for the less-privileged students in Hong Kong. As an official partner of the programme, the Consulate General of France arranged several activities with a local partner secondary school, TWGHs Yow Kam Yuen College, such as student visit to the Consulate, student visit to Alliance française and student performance at the Preview Cocktail of Le French May 2015. By participating to those activities, Yow Kam Yuen College’s students are able to broaden their horizon and have a first glimpse at their future world, as well as the business world.
