Year 2012 will be the 75th anniversary of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Celebrations for this 75th year start from November, 2011 through November, 2012.

The launching ceremony of PolyU 75th anniversary celebrations took place on November 17, 2011 at the PolyU main campus. The ceremony was hosted by the Honourable Marjorie Yang Mun-tak, Chairman of PolyU Council; and Professor Timothy W. Tong, PolyU President. Mr Edward Cheng Wai-sun, Chairman of the University Grants Committee (UGC), was the Guest-of-Honour. The representative of the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, Mr. Martin Ho (Academic Officer), was present at the ceremony to celebrate this memorable moment of PolyU together with the representatives of the Hong Kong government, foreign consulates in Hong Kong, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in HKSAR and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government and the other universities in Hong Kong.

PolyU has been one of the important academic partners to France. Until now, over 24 academic or scientific agreements have been reached between PolyU and its counterparts in France.
