Reminder: 4 Calls for proposals France-Asia still open [fr]

Please find below a reminder article of the 4 calls for proposals currently open (until mid-September and beginning of October) to encourage scientific collaborations between France and Asia.

BIO-Asie

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development (MAEDI) has implemented this program, in partnership with the French Ministry for National Education Higher Education and Research (MENESR) and with several French institutions (CNRS, INSERM, CIRAD…). This French initiative to strengthen high-level scientific collaborations with Asia as well as to develop a research network in the fields of biodiversity and biotechnologies studies, ranging from the study of natural substances to their applications in agronomy, cosmetics, forest, try, health, etc

The total indicative amount for one project for this call for proposals is 40.000 € (340.000 HKD) for two years (ie: 20.000 € (170.000 HKD) per project per year).

The 4 to 6 selected projects must include at least
• One research unit from France;
• Two research units from two different partners countries in Asia (with at least one is an ASEAN member state).

The deadline for submitting applications is September 13th, 2015.

ICT-Asia

The regional program ICT-Asia is a French initiative founded to strengthen high-level scientific collaborations with Asia and to develop a research network in the fields of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The total indicative amount for one project for this call for proposals is 40.000 € (340 000 HKD) for two years (ie: 20.000 € (170.000 HKD) per project per year).

The 4 to 6 selected projects must include at least :
• One research unit from France
• Two research units from two different partner countries in Asia (with at least one is an ASEAN member state).

The deadline for submitting applications is September 13th, 2015.

ICT-Asia/AIT

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) is launching this call for proposals in partnership with the French Directorate for Research and Scientific Exchanges, the French Ministry for National Education Higher Education and Research (MENESR) and with several French institutes institutions (CNRS, INSERM, CIRAD…) in order to strengthen the development of research in the field of information and communication technology.

The total indicative amount of financing for each project is 35.000 € (300.000 HKD) for two years. 75% of the funding is allocated at the beginning of the project. The second payment (25%) is allocated at the second year.

The 3 to 4 selected projects must include:
• One research unit from the Asian Institute of Technology ;
• One French research unit ;
• One Asian research unit, specialized in the field of information and communication technology.

CLIMATE CHANGE, AIT/MAEDI

At the occasion of the BANGKOK REGIONAL FORUM ON CLIMATE CHANGE, held by AIT, in Bangkok from on the 1-3 July, the AIT and the MAEDI jointly launched a specific call for proposals on climate change. This initiative aims to foster the role of scientists in facing climate change challenges and opportunities in the region through collaborative research projects.

The call expects to select 3 research projects in the following fields of research:
• Climate Change Adaptation
• Climate Change Mitigation
• Cross-Cutting Studies in Climate Change

The total indicative amount of the grant is 143.000 € (1.215.500 HKD), for two years, to be distributed among 3 projects.
The 3 selected teams must include at least:
• one research unit at the Asian Institute of Technology,
• one research unit from France,
• one from an Asian country

The deadline for submitting applications is October 31st, 2015.
