About Patrick Deville

As a travel writer with a cosmopolitan spirit, Patrick Deville heads la Maison des Ecrivains et Traducteurs de Saint-Nazaire. He spent a part of his life in Middle-East, Africa and South America. He is the author of la trilogie Pura Vida (2004), Equatoria (2006) and Kampuchéa (2011). His works were translated in ten languages

His novel « Peste et Choléra » talks about the history of Alexandre Yersin, who is the member of the Pasteur Institute, doctor and scholar. In 1894, he discovered the plague bacillus in Hong Kong. He is also sailor, explorer, astronomer, meteorologist, founder of the city "Dalat",plant breeder of rubber tree in Vietnam. « Peste et Choléra » was awarded the prize "Fémina" of the prize of Roman Fnac.
