Sound and Image Challenge Festival 2015 in Macau
Sound & Image Challenge Festival is an annual worldwide audio-visual festival that aims to motivate local movie producers and encourage overseas productions to compete in Macau. The Challenge targets both professionals and novices in the field of moving image and sound design.
This year Festival compromises two separate contests, Sound & Image Challenge SHORTS and Sound & Image Challenge VOLUME. “SHORTS” awards the best shorts-films in the four categories of Fiction, Documentary, Animation and Advertisement. And “VOLUME” awards one winning music video incorporating Macau band songs. A list of music compositions was available in the website for download. Both Contests were open for submission until 16 June 2015.
The Festival 2015 was held from 1 to 6 December 2015. A series of cultural programs were be scheduled in venues throughout Macau during the Festival week, such as “SHORTS” nominated films screening and “VOLUME” awarded music video displaying in cinema and theatre; seminars of film production, development, International Film Festival curatorship and organizing; audience voting for “Public Favourite Award”; award ceremony; and winning-video band of “VOLUME” performing its work live at the award ceremony during the festival.
This year, 8 awards in SHORTS were granted at the closing ceremony of the festival, amongst which 4 were awarded to French directors :

One winter evening, on a snowy weather, a woman is going to her job. The surroundings are hostile, the labour – backbreaking. And a window doesn’t close anymore : it snows inside the work space. The chore place becomes a land of adventures…
MUR (THE WALL) is Tevy’s first produced short-movie, which script was awarded during the 30th Open-air festival of Grenoble et won the France 2 Award at Pantin 21st Festival Côté Court.
