Alliance Française de Hong Kong

Since 1953, the Alliance Française de Hong Kong, part of a network of 1,085 Alliances Françaises all over the world, has helped to spread the French language and culture.

Thirty-five instructors teach French courses at all levels, in group or private lessons at centres in Wan Chai and in Jordan or, upon request, externally. All ages are welcome. In general, evening classes are made up of adults, while Saturday and summer classes are attended mostly by children and adolescents. In 2006, the Alliance Française had 12,500 registered students. Since December 2001, a Multimedia Centre - Information Centre on Contemporary France has opended to the public at Jordan Centre (52 Jordan Road, Kowloon).

The Alliance Française is also active in organising or supporting cultural events, such as the French Cinepanorama, Le French May, the Night of the Ad-Eaters, as well as the publication of the bi-monthly cultural magazine "Paroles".

The Alliance Française is a non-profit Hong Kong association, recognized by the Alliance Française de Paris, and administered by a committee of local residents.
