Working Holiday Scheme in France [中文]
The Hong Kong/France Working Holiday Scheme was established on 1 July 2013 with both sides providing an annual quota of 750. This programme allows Hong Kong residents aged between 18 and 30 to visit France for a period of one year with the right to work, so as to supplement their financial resources on site.
The conditions
The main reason for your stay is tourism and discovering France’s culture.
You are a Hong Kong resident holding a HKSAR or BN(O) passport.
You will not be accompanied by any dependents (spouse or children) during the journey.
You must meet the terms and conditions of the agreement regarding duration of stay and provide a financial proof of 2,500 Euros for maintenance during your stay in France.
Applicants must be, as of the date of request submission, between 18 and 30 years of age (i.e. until the day before their 31st birthday).
You are required to provide a Certificate of No Criminal Conviction (CNCC) issued by the Hong Kong Police Force. This document can only be requested after your visa appointment during which you will be provided with a supporting letter from the Consulate General. Therefore, application for a CNCC can only be made after your visa appointment.
The Consulate General will not disclose whether the annual quota has been reached and related enquiries will not be answered.
Your visa
This is a long-stay visa containing the statement: “vacances travail” (working holiday). Its duration is one year and may not be extended, unless otherwise stipulated. It will entitle you to undertake paid employment on a secondary basis, without prior approval from the French Administration.
