Exhibition Openings of Le French May 2015 (4-15 May) [fr]
5 major exhibitions were opened last two weeks - from French historical monuments to modern architecture, from traditional craftsmanship of shoes to contemporary sound art as well as recent illustrations on climate change. This variety of exhibitions corresponds completely to the theme of Le French May this year: "Essentially French", 500 years of excellence and innovation in French arts and culture!
Co-presented by Le French May and Centre des Monuments Nationaux (CMN), supported by the Paris Region Tourism Office and the Galeries Lafayette, this exhibition showcases a brand new series of photographic works of 16 sequences that illustrates the story of the city of lights, Paris, along the Avenue of Stars against the Hong Kong skyline.
The exhibition was launched on May 4 in the Intercontinental Hotel next to the Avenue of Stars. Officiating guests included Mrs. Anne Denis-Blanchardon, Consul for Culture, Education and Science of France in Hong Kong and Macau, Ms. Bénédicte Lefeuvre, General Manager of CMN, Mr. François Navarro, Director of the Paris Region Tourism Office, Mrs. Florence Brachet Champsaur, Director of Sponsorship and Heritage, and Mr. Michel Eisenlohr, Photographer of the exhibition.

As the first major retrospective about Le Corbusier in Hong Kong, this exhibition provides a unique opportunity to discover the range of Le Corbusier’s works in architecture, art, sculpture, and writing.

Le French May presents an exhibition about one of the most loved fashion item in history – Shoes. "500 Years of French Passion for Shoes" details the historical evolution of French artistry for footwear.
The exhibition was opened on 6 May at Pacific Place, with the Officiating Guests including Ms. Lilas Bernheim, Deputy Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau and Mr. Jean-Pierre Renaudin, President of the French Federation of Shoes.

Le French May presents its first sound art exhibition, Beyond The Sound, featuring the works of 8 French and 6 Hong Kong artists.
The exhibition was opened on 8 May at Comix Home Base. Le French May is thrilled to present Nicolas Vial, a renowned French illustrator, to his very first exhibition in Hong Kong. Through a collaborative effort by the Friends of the Art Museum of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Arts Centre, this exhibition provides a dialogue between Nicolas Vial and the young Hong Kong artists in response to social problems, in particular, climate change.
The exhibition was launched on 13 May at the Hong Kong Arts Centre. Officiating Guests were Mrs. Lilas Bernheim, Deputy Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau; Ms. Dominica Yang, Chair of the Friends of the Art Museum, CUHK; Curator; Mr. C. W. Cheung, Senior Head, Climate & Footprint Programmes, WWF - Hong Kong; in the presence of artists Nicolas Vial, Amimi Cheng, Collins Yeung, Liu Man Kun, Pat Wong and Wai Wai.
